Job Responsibilities:
- Performs active monitoring of various security systems, including video and access control systems
- Participates in departmental meetings as required
- Escalates incidents to the Co-ordinator / Supervisor / Manager immediately when unable to manage the situation
- Providing, in accordance with protocol, alarm monitoring via Access Control and/or Automatic Video Display for intrusion, robbery or duress
- Follows procedures, work instructions and other directions from the Supervisor and Manager
- Communicates concerns, process improvement ideas or other opportunities for improvement to the Supervisor / Manager
- Advises the Supervisor of urgent matters, life safety incidents, etc., in a timely manner to ensure the appropriate triage is applied and the appropriate steps are taken
- Other duties and responsibilities associated with the security department
- Collaborate with employees, contractors and other services
- Performs other duties as required
- Support investigations with video review/surveillance for theft, fraud and health and safety related matters
- Creates and Supports incidents by case management documented or directed to do so by the Supervisor, or other authorized persons
- Performs intake, triage, and escalation functions for all incidents reported to the centre
- Performs data entry in a timely, accurate and inclusive manner
- Ensure physical security of premises as well as use of X-Ray machines and metal detectors
- Deals with issues and incidents that are potentially sensitive, confidential
- Collects information and data, creates and provides reports, maintains effective communications with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Dispatch of personnel and escalation based on assessment of incident
- Providing access Control with Automatic Video Display with Voice Communications
- Adheres to and promotes Purolator policies and procedures at all times
Job Requirements:
- Must be available to work on a rotational shift basis, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Minimum of 3 or 5 more years of work-related experience, preferably in the security or protective services industry with exposure to alarms, cctv and access control
- Strong administrative and multi-tasking skills
- Demonstrates ability to work effectively with employee groups and builds partnerships at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated experience in critical environments where decision making and actions can impact life-safety and business continuity
- Ability to implement performance management with direct reports
- Experience with Network / Telecommunications technology
- Knowledge of CCTV Systems, Access Control Systems, Monitoring alarms, Fire Panels, Environmental Alarms, Duress Alarms, and additional devices and sensors related to Security
- Well-developed analytical, mathematical, interpersonal, listening and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve via active listening, and deploy customer centric solutions
- Use of Microsoft 365, Teams, and Office SharePoint and ThinkLP is an asset
- Ideal experience Call Centre/Dispatch Centre/Emergency Response Centre/Security Operations Center experience is ideal
- Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act and Powers of Arrest
