Job Description:

As a Lead family law solicitor, we’ll look to you to act as an inspirational leader for a team of solicitors, as well as being hands-on and managing a varied caseload (including high net worth and complex cases). You’ll need to use your legal expertise to provide thought leadership to the team, as well as using your commercial acumen to spot opportunities to improve our customer offering. Job Responsibilities:

• manage and develop a small team (between 5-10) of family law solicitors, undertaking all line-management duties for these colleagues, whilst also providing coaching and mentoring support
• take ownership of a mixed caseload of family matters, undertaking active negotiation and mediation to get the best results for your clients
• review and manage the team’s workload and delegate duties evenly across the team
• actively look for opportunities to improve ways of working and increase revenue
• report directly into the Head of Civil Litigation, providing insights and findings
• advise the team on complex legal queries, acting as the subject matter specialist in family law

Job Requirements:

• qualified as a solicitor / CILEX qualified, with significant post-qualification experience
• a solid background in family law, with excellent legal technical knowledge
• people management experience, with a passion for supporting and developing a team
• outstanding communication skills, with the ability to engage with a range of clients and partners, including executive colleagues within CLS
