Job Description:
AWS Pro Serv provides value to external customers by helping them to accelerate adoption of services and technologies. The CIA works with some of the best and brightest engineers at AWS, focusing on delivery of innovative solutions, accelerating adoption (and therefore realization of value), and maximizing customer investments. The CIA is a consultant who uses broad and deep knowledge of technology and information technology (IT) operations to help solve, mapping common customer business problems to reusable services and with a steady focus on operational effectiveness and business value. The CIA manages the complete technical life cycle of large and complex projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Helping to create value maps and business cases regarding return on investment
- Capture of requirements, business goals and objectives
- Use and development of integrated solutions using AWS services
- Leadership of technical and business discussions with IT executives
- Leveraging of new technology paradigms (such as serverless, containers, microservices)
- Delivery of high-quality, wide-ranging engagements around services, solution areas, and technologies, leveraging available IP and following defined AWS delivery methodologies and service offerings
- Understanding of relevant infrastructure, application and operations implications (as to the designed/developed solution)
- Consultative advice obtained via collective experience from across the AWS customer base: we’re obsessed about success for our customers, and we collaborate across all of AWS as to best product and service access, the right (customized) solutions, driving of feature innovation based on customer needs, etc.
- Technical influence over multiple teams: the CIA will help to increase productivity and effectiveness by sharing deep knowledge and experience
- Automated software deployment and configuration management
- Work on the cutting edge of a wide range of innovative use cases
- Architecting solutions for mid-level, resiliency and maintainability
- Coaching customer and partner teams to be self-sufficient
- Setting up and configuring services to best practices
Job Requirements:
- Understanding of and experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA and REST)
- Understanding and experience with code deployment (tagging)
- Highly technical and analytical, possessing 7 or more years of IT implementation experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
- Implementation of services in a environments with Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, SAP etc.
- Active open source contributor
- Ability to be mobile and travel for projects
- Hands-on technical practitioner and individual contributor
Qualification & Experience:
- 8+ years of experience working with either core networking and infrastructure OR application development technologies
- 4-year university/college degree in computer science, math, engineering or similar ‘STEM’ fields; in lieu of such a degree, additional years of experience beyond the minimums listed above will be considered
- 8+ years of experience in architecture of IT systems, patterns and frameworks, including experience with data center and virtualization technologies
- 2+ years of experience with industry compliance and security standards, including PCI DSS, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and NIST equivalent cybersecurity and compliance experience
- 8+ years of experience with storage, archive, backup/recovery and business continuity processes in operations
