M&S Careers – Transport Operations Controller

Job Description:

This role will predominantly require working day shifts, however there will be a requirement to work night shifts to provide cover for nightshift team holidays, absences, and other periods of leave. Weekend work will also be required with the role requiring at least one in four weekends to be worked. A standard shift pattern will be two days a week in week one, and one day a week in week two, with each shift being twelves hours.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensuring on the day execution across the transport sites is effective and within service and cost requirements, questioning when not
• Monitoring site and driver compliance ensuring they are adhering to the plan
• Ensuring the transport team execute the plans produced by Logistics Planning Centre
• Providing real time monitoring on work and making necessary changes to ensure all work is completed on time and in full
• Supporting the planning team with reporting and administration, ensuring that it is completed in a timely and accurate manner
• Interrogating systems to provide management information and carry out analysis as required
• Monitoring delivery performance into sites and collaborating closely with warehousing/supplier functions access supply chain
